I’m Emilia Wilburn, the artist behind Emilia Wilburn Pet Portrait Studio. I’m originally from Arizona and now live in Fairfax, Virginia, where I create custom pet portraits inspired by the love people have for their animals and the stories that make them unforgettable. My work is personal by nature, and as a local artist, every piece I create is rooted in care, connection, and the kind of thoughtful craftsmanship that comes from small business and handmade art.

Animals have always been at the center of my life. I share my home with five cats, so I know how much personality, comfort, humor, and heart pets bring into a space. That closeness shapes the way I paint. I do not just want to capture what a pet looks like. I want to capture what it feels like to know and love them.

My work is influenced by warmth, color, memory, and the feeling of home. Growing up in Arizona left me with a lasting love for rich desert tones, natural light, and expressive beauty, and those influences still live in my art today. Every portrait I create is meant to feel personal, soulful, and true to the animal at the center of it. Whether it is made to celebrate a companion, honor a memory, or give as a meaningful gift, my goal is to create something lasting and deeply felt while also giving people the chance to support local art in a meaningful way.
